Rated 5 out of 5Â by Firemedic1407 Very Good Decoy Cord
I have used this cord for two years now and have never had any problems with it ever. I don't use all the fancy cord locks and other accessories. When you pair this cord with the ACE Decoy Weight System, you have a winning combination. I tie small figure eights on a bight with double half-hitches as back up, to the decoy and to the weights. I have never had them come untied, nor have I had any breakage problems. I use 3 1/2' to 4' pieces, cut with a hot knife and burn the ends with the hot knife or a lighter to bond the strands tightly together. Some sharp sissors and a lighter work just fine as well. The line does not float, so your decoys look realistic.I use this cord on 6 dozen duck decoys and four dozen goose decoys without one lick of trouble.

I have this decoy string on all my decoys. Haven't had any issues. Every once in a while they come untied but it's probably my fault.
I would recommend string rather than the plastic cord. In the winter when it's extremely cold, the plastic cord becomes very brittle after a few uses.

The diameter of this cord is to small to lock in the cord lock on the Red Head decoys they sell.
