I purchased one of these a couple years ago, and have really liked it. I have also gotten one for a friend. I also had the problem with the retaining strap not quite reaching around the handle. It was quite easy to fix, though - just dangle the strap in a glass of hot water for 45-60 minutes (with body of sheath resting horizontally across top of glass). Then squeeze out water with paper towels (not your wife's nice bath towels) I put some plastic food wrap around knife handle, then pulled the strap tight and snapped it. Let it sit overnight in a spot where it can dry. Next day it fits!

Knife finally arrived, I removed it from its unneccesary toy like packaging slipped and sliced my finger! AWESOME!! SHARP!! I havent really used it more than to shave part of my arm, but am very pleased with its weight, very nice handle, and all the room I need on the blade to get a nice engraving of a ridiculous nickname for my new friend.
Only gripe is that when I put the blade in its sheath the top stitches on both sides came loose, well nothing a couple of nice pop rivets cant fix!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bonzeye182 great knife
I use this knife a lot, and i have to say it is a great knife. it stays sharp for a pretty long time. I dont know anything about the blade steel, but it seems to be a pretty good, well performing steel. this knife is big, I use mine as a machette sometimes. it works ok as a machette. it can hack down brush and stuff so thats good. and about the sheath, ya i can see why people dont like it, but i personally dont have a problem with the sheath. overall, great knife.
