Boots seemed like a decent fit initially and the price was right. Then discovered that the tongue was too padded and the laces tended to slide off the top, just didn't fit together well. Also had an odd pressure point on the upper ankle. After a few days of all day wear at work the left boot developed an issue in the sole. It felt like something was stuck to the bottom of the boot. Very annoying. I ordered them on the website but returned them to the store after almost a month of wear. No problem at all. Good return policy.

A previous reviewer mentioned the boot's tongue. I too have an issue-- when the laces are pulled tight, the tongue does not lay flat on my shin. Both sides of the tongue curl, which effectively creates a "shoot" or "tube" for
water and snow to pour into the boot.

I am impressed by the quality and durability of this boot for the $$$. They are a very good value. I purchased them as a general hiking/outside housework boot and have been very satisfied so far. I take long walks with my dog in the woods and they have performed very well. They are definitely waterproof!!!

Yes they will work for almost anything. Just wear longer socks under the boots and you shouldnt have a problem.A:Â
These are a lightweight hiker, which is ready for rough country! I would say you might bring an extra pair of heavy socks for the cold days since these are not lined. Otherwise, these should work for your early season Colorado Elk hunt. ThanksAnswers

These boots are uninsulated. Not a Cold weather boot. Maybe order size larger and wear heavier socks.Top 100 Contributor

These days hikers just don't come insulated anymore. Only the higher hunting boots do. The only thing I can suggest is wear heavy socks that wick away moisture.Details:Â
I ordered a size 11 (which is what I wear in other shoes - including other RedHead shoes), but they feel really tight - how small do these run? Should I order a half a size up or a full size up? Thanks!Answers
A:Â
I would order a different width not a size difference. I have a wide foot and mine fit as they were ordered.A:Â
My experience is that the sizing is the same as your other shoes. They do not seem to run small (unless you are wearing very thick socks etc)A:Â
if they feel tight order a 11 wide shoeA:Â
in boots always order a half size larger. nA:Â
I don't really know SLC. I wear a 10 wide and ordered a 10W of these Ridge Pointe Hikers and they fit me perfectly. If I were you, I think I'd get the size 11 and see what hapens. You can always ship them back if they don't fit right. I usually never get a pair that fits me just right but these boots fit me like a glove for some reason. Good Luck!A:Â
My boots ran true to size. I think half size up would be plenty.Top 100 Contributor

I got the 11 Med. and they do seem a little narrow, but since I usually take a 10 1/2 the extra length provides a little extra wide.If your foot is width "D" or "E", a 12 might be better. Anything wider and you might want to try a different kind of shoe.

No they are not Gore-tex lined. When the patent ran out on Gore-tex many companies came out with their own form of Gore Tex. So while they are not lined with Gore-Tex brand I would say they are lined with red heads version of a fabric that is like Gore-Tex. There are many brands of waterproof liners out there nowdays.A:Â
These boots are gore-tex lined and take it from me they are waterproof. I have buried them in muddy water every day at work.1 of 1
