These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I would recommend them to anyone!

Over the last few years, I have purchased 3 pairs of Redhead Snake Boots and have found them to be the most comfortable and durable boots I have owned. With hard wear, I have found them to be completely waterproof for up to two full seasons. I have convinced others in our hunt club to purchase them and everyone has been satisfied. The latest pair was a disappointment to me when I opened the box and realized that the zipper slide and teeth were about half the size and appear much lighter duty than the previous 2 pair. The zipper slider now has a small cord attached to compensate for its diminished size. My observation is that the price on this product has increased while the perceived durability diminished (only time will tell). I have worn the boots twice and intend to keep them as everything else seems fairly equal. I would give this product 5 stars except for the "new" zipper. I sent my observation to Bass Pro who said they would "forward it to the merchandisers".

Rated 1 out of 5 by WalkinginWater Not Even Waterproof
I bought these boots early last Summer (2011) to wear while camera hunting and kayaking in the Virginia swamps. I wore them maybe twice a month for 8 to 10 hours a day. At first I thought that the little bit of moisture inside was from my feet sweating as I sometimes would hike 7 to 10 miles. These boots now leak considerable just from walking in the early wet grass and are just useless when walking in the swamps. I have invested in spray waterproofing to try to keep my feet dry that didn't work eiither. The store says that I have owned them a little over a year so no return or store credit. If you buy these don't delay returning them if they leak even a little bit.
My last Red Head boots, very poor performance from a "waterproof" boot. Wish I had checked other reviews before buying, I'll know better next time.

bought my first pair and after less than 2 years of limited use in FL, the soles rotted, the boots were no longer waterproof! I received a 75% discount towards the purchase of a second pair. The sales person at BasPro was shocked to see the soles, they were hardly worn out but simply rotted off! The second pair is harldly 2 yrs old, very limited use, walk to and from tree stand, crossing some wet lands etc. The top portion of the boot ( black foamy rim) of the boot has flacked off, just yesterday water was felt inside the boot! I flexed the soles, and sure enough they were all cracked, deep groves running cross lenght! What a shame, the boot is extremely comfortable and insulation / leather is well made, too bad Red Head cannot understand the materrial of the soles is worthless ! I am in the process of contacting BAsPro (they will honor the product even w/out a receipt) and Rd Head! This is unacceptable! Save your money for a better boot! Avoid this like the plague! I tried twice with the same boot, and twice it was a total disappointment!

Excellent boots suitable for cold weather provided you wear an appropriate sock that is rated for the temperatures you will be encountering. I have used these boots in 100 degree heat and temperatures that plunged tp 2 degrees below zero in snow and sleet.
Not insulated and I have worn mine with wool socks in temps close to freezing and was fairly comfortable. I usually only wear mine when the snakes are crawling and switch to insulated boots below 35 degrees.
non-insulated, "if" you can find a pair that fits properly (try in store first) as these boots have a problem getting your feet into for some reason and you may have to buy a larger size than you think??? As to freezing temperatures to 25 deg. I can say no problem for me, I also use a good boot dressing often.
I see where it states these boots are guessted on top with a cinch strap to keep water and debri out, I am looking for a pair of boots that will go over stocking foot chest waders that will not let water in causing a swooshing sound, I will only use them for this reason on an 8 day hunting trip to Alaska. Will these boots work for that purpose, Thanks,
I have used these boots for years and found them to be an excellent boot for most hunting situations. With that being said, these boots are not designed to do what you are asking. You would be better served by using a quality made pair of booted chest waders that ensure no water penetration. Choose carefully so that you are comfortable and provided the stability you seek for a hunt lasting that length of time. Wet and uncomfortable feet can ruin what otherwise would be an amazing experience.
no dont buy these boots the deteriate over time but they do fit tight on the foot and not much debris gets in but water will might not slosh because they are tight
They would but I don't know why you wouldn't just wear boot foot waders? Also are you sure you want chest waders and not thigh highs or waist? Hot, hot, hot if you are walking. Make sure they are breathable at least.
