Repowered with added speed and retooled for less weight, the 2014 BlackOut SS is the result of our collaboration with the passionate bowhunting experts at BowTech. The outcome is an ultra-deadly hunting machine that rockets arrows downrange at an air-splitting 335 fps—and incredibly, it weighs only 3.5 lbs! Powered by Throttle Cam Tech—the fastest and most efficient single cam system on the market—the draw cycle and energy transfer moment are smooth and precise. Our parallel limbs store all the power to deliver an exceptionally quiet and extremely lethal surprise to your prey. This flawless design, combining a 7" brace height and a compact 32" axle-to-axle length, gives you a perfectly balanced bow that you will never want to put down. Made in USA.

Throttle Cam Tech
This cutting-edge cam has been stripped down to the basics and rebuilt from scratch, machined to the tightest tolerances possible for unmatched efficiency so all potential power stored in the limbs is transferred to the arrow with minimal energy drop.

Rotating Draw Length Modules
Adjusting the BlackOut's draw length between 26.5" and 30.5" (in 1/2" increments) is as simple as removing the module screws, rotating the module, and retightening it. No bowpress required!

Limb-Mounted Bearing Assembly
Most compound bow manufacturers integrate the bearing into the cam itself, which can lead to inefficient power transfer and imbalanced rotation. We've placed the bearing assembly on the limb tips instead, allowing near-perfect efficiency and unencumbered, true centered alignment.

Highest-Tolerance Fully Machined Riser
The 6061 T6 aluminum riser is precisely CNC-machined to eliminate unnecessary weight and maximize strength. It's long enough to add precious forgiveness to each shot, yet compact enough to maneuver deftly in ground blinds or tight treestands.

Very good bow This is my first compound bow. After doing research, I decided to go with the Blackout SS due to price/performance benefits. I bought one for me and one for my adult son. The bow shoots very well, and even though I'm a brand new archer, I'm able to shoot 4 inch or better groups at 40 yards. The only upgrades to date was to replace the stock sight with a Spot Hog Hunter. The BPS in Rancho Cucamonga Archery shop set both of our bows up in no time and helped us pick out the necessary gear to get started. Awesome team! Plan on hunting Deer, Turkey, and Boars. Awesome Bow Have been shopping around for a bow for about a year. I was really interested in the Bear Attitude and Authority. I went to BPS in Denver, CO on the intent of buying that brand. When I got there The BlackOut SS 50-60# caught me I eye so I had the sales person set one up so could try it. on the first release I knew it was the one for me smooth and quiet and felt like it had a lot of power hard to explain. I have friends that shoot the high dollar Mathews and they are very impressed. No regrets here 100% satisfied. Just another note when I bought this it was the day after Christmas and as busy as they were they took their time getting the bow and arrows set up to fly straight sighing in including the release and putting the bow case together. Blackout SS I have only shot an old longbow when I was in the boy scouts. Boy have things changed! Great salesperson Eloy at the Harlingen store. Took his time explaining with no pressure sales advice on different bows, packages, prices and tips. Decided on a G5 but not made in left hand, so bumped up on the Bowtech and can't be more pleased! I did not score 5 stars because the second time I shot it the balancing bubble popped off. Super glued it back on and shoots fine! Would recommend this bow package to anyone with a budget! Thanks BassPro! Can't wait to take a few pigs or bucks in South Texas! October 19, 2014
Performance on all levels This bow is ready to hunt. Great back wall. Smooth draw. Great energy. Quiet from start to finish. 335fps out of a single cam system and only weighing 3.5lbs! Crossbow hunters... Keep these specs in the back of your mind as your lugging awkward equipment into the field. October 8, 2014

A:
Go with 2 inch vanes. 4 inch vanes used to be the go-to choice, but people soon realized that 2 inch vanes actually stabilize modern broad heads just as well or even better. Look into the Blackout arrows. They come with vanes and nocks. All you need to do is have them cut. They're at an affordable price, but are produced by Gold Tip with the same specs.

This is a matter of personal preference. If you keep the hostage rest then you should have no problems shooting any type of vane.

400. 340 spline is preferred by most. I shoot a 400 with 100 gr tips and have had great results from the target to the field.

A:
Per manufacturer, we recommend shooting a minimum of 5 grains per pound of bow weight, the Ibo safe standard.

Ex, 70# bow would be 350 grn arrow, 60# would be 300grn.
