There is no difference between having these ear plugs in or out. I tried everything with fitting them but they barely stay in and will not protect your ears.

I've used these for several years now and was surprised by the negative feedback. They fit great, protect what's left of my hearing and still allow me to hear and talk normally. In fact they function as well as my large electronic muffs but without the bulk and worrying with batteries. I'll be buying a few more sets of these. I keep losing them...probably to my boys.
