I'm a 24 year old female who bought these boots to wear when I shoot 3d archery, walk through the woods in general, bass fish, ride four-wheelers, and as a day-to-day boot. I'm on my 2nd pair now because the boot tore away from the sole on my 1st pair before 1/2 a year was up and my new pair is on its way there as well. They are NOT waterproof at all and do not withstand much of a beating. They are however comfortable if you buy insoles for them (no arch support at all). If you are a truely active outdoorsman/woman and want a good boot that will last, find something else. If you want them to wear them day-to-day you might like them.

bought these boots for my 10 year old son to deer hunt with me, on his second outing he was soaked and very unhappy. When the tag on the boot says 100% waterproof and WET LEAVES soak through they are very poor boots. Make your child enjoy their hunt DONT BUY THESE BOOTS

My son wore his boots hunting with just rain falling in them, and his feet were cold and wet. Which turned the trip in to being cold and not a great experience. Can I use snow seal or any other product for these 100% waterproof boots without damage to the boot?
You can try a ReviveX® Spray-On Water Repellent Item Number: 38-870-336-03 or make sure the snow seal will not ruin the boot material. Has to be able to go onto Rugged 1000 denier upper trimmed with leather.
My husband always buys his boots at Bass Pro and they tend to be the same as his shoe size.

All RedHead footwear runs true to size, except for rubber boots, which run a 1/4 size big. One other thing to think about. You may want to go larger simply to allow room for layering or thick socks for hunting in really cold weather, if that's part of the plan.
