.You really can't beat this safe for the price. It will easily hold 10 long guns and a dozen handguns,
as well as ammo. I agree that you should buy the safe at the stores well as saving on the cost, the Bass Pro Shop employees will help you with operating the lock. They made sure that I could open the safe several times before I left the store.
The safe was fairly easy to place in the house. It is heavy and time consuming to move, but it can be done alone with a hand truck (dolly). I recommend this safe for a piece of mind knowing your firearms are protected

great safe, easy to open, great quality! but.. like other reviews, you got to cut your losses on the storage, just because the slots are there for rifles dosent mean it is going to fit all those slots i fit 3 shotguns on the door side-way and 2 scoped rifles inside (room for 2 more i would say). safe DID come with an awesome door organizer for passports, mags, spare keys etc.

I have had my safe for about 4 years. It is great and my guns have never had it so good. My wife wanted her closet back. It is home to 11 long guns and will still house more pistols than I can use. My only complaints are; I am out of slots for Side by Side guns and need two more, and to hold as many as it is rated for scopes must be removed. However, I am using one side for shelving and papers that could be used for guns.
The safe has also served as a secure site for important papers, coins etc. It was no trouble to get in place. I installed a dryer/warmer in just minutes to keep rust away. My wife and I managed it well. It is a great choice for rural existence with no electronics. That eliminates waiting weeks for a service call should a problems occur.
I have found no disadvantage to this unit, other than the color. A nice green or deep red would have been good."

Great safe for the money. Like others have said, save yourself some $$$ and buy the safe at a BassPro store and save yourself some cash. Get yourself (I rented) a good dolly and a friend to help you unload out of the truck. Take the door off (as someone else suggested) and you are ready to put it where you want. Mine didnt come with the "as pictured" door gun hanger. It came with a much better Browning gun/accesorie/pistol orrginizer that works really good. I'd buy this safe again in a blink of an eye!

I am not sure. When I ask that question the salesman told me they were made for Bass Pro by an American manufacturer. Liberty I think it was. It is a very nice safe and a good price.
