RedHead® 16'' Mountain Bear Socks for Men
Socks are warm!
Had them on today in single digit and low double digit temperatures and my feet were not cold, I did not sweat in them either and they did not itch my feet.
They are long though. They come up to my knee but I will use them under waders so that is fine. Today was just shoveling snow and sledding!

I rarely, if ever, have written a review. But I am so impressed with these socks I had to chime in...I bought these socks for 2 reasons...1 because they are thick and i wanted thick socks to wear under my rubber hunting boots...2 because they are 16 inches and I wanted socks long enough to keep the back of the boot off of my calf. These socks met both of those criteria. Here's the 'secret sauce' on these socks. I took a tumble and landed on my side in a big creek last week while headed to my hunting spot...30 minutes before daylight...28 degrees. I got wet to say the least...I could feel some dampness in the left boot as it was the only one that was submersed for a few seconds. The sock kept that foot warm...in spite of the dampness. I went to the local BPS to buy another pair and they're out...so I'm ordering more online. Best $17 dollars I've spent on hunting clothes in a long long time!

I live in Orlando, FL. Temperature my first time wearing them was in the low/mid 50's (54/55 degrees), time of morning was around 9:15 AM. I wasn't putting them on for a hunt, but just wanted to see how well they'd work compared to how they are advertised.
Gotta say, I was a little surprised. I WAS EXPECTING to feel at least a little cold under the socks, but instead, with the sock covering my legs up to my knees, I was warmer from my knees down compared to the rest of my body, and I had a under shirt, regular button up shirt, regular long cargo pants, & light jacket on. As the day wore on, the temperature rose to about 73/74 degrees & I had NO sweat whatsoever. I thought there'd be a little bit because my legs felt so warm/hot but no...I'm generally not one to get cold really fast as I like the cold weather but if you CAN'T STAND the cold/what you consider to be low temperatures, then I highly suggest you get a pair of these. Keeps your legs warm during the cold and if it warms up a little bit, no need to worry about sweat because you won't find any.

Excellent cold weather field socks
These socks have been a boon. Done a few weekend trips into the field with them this 2013 season, and always been warm and comfortable.
