I had originally gotten these socks to wear under my breathable waders as my boots are a little big and I wanted my feet to be comfortable. I really liked the fact that these things wick like crazy and have helped prevent blisters while hiking in waders. I wear them even in the height of the summer and will take my waders off and be soaked from perspiration (from kicking around in the float tube in 90 degree weather), except, that is, on my feet, which are surprisingly dry!
They wash up nice, are amazingly padded and springy soft inside, and are comfortable under my hiking boots too. They've been a great joy to wear now that we are ice fishing again, and my feet are happy and warm in my snowmobile boots with my favorite socks. Will have to pick up a second pair.
Everybody asks me what kind of socks to buy for their wives with cold feet - I always tell them to buy the Tree Stand Socks!

My friend took these socks with him Moose hunting in Northern Ontario. He had to leave early and accidentally left his socks behind. I took them home and washed them. They looked warm so I put them on. I have been wearing them all winter. They said RedHead on them so I went to the local BassPro and found that they were these treestand socks.
They are warm, they don't itch and the stand up.
Bill, if you are looking for your socks, I have them :)

These socks are great for hunting and cold weather. They do a great job of keeping your feet warm a dry. I even had to buy my wife a pair, because she kept stealing mine to wear around the house.

These socks are awesome.
I bowhunt a lot and can sit in my blind for several hours with pacs on and my feet are comfortable. They wick moisture well and merino wool does not tend to itch as much a regular wool.
The socks also go back to their regular shape very well after washing as well.
Money well spent!!
