when got the scales I used a 5# and a 10# iron plates to check accuracy, both wieghts were right on.

The scale is a good 3+ pounds off and all around not a good buy. I would buy a different one.

This scale itself is stainless steel.
But the scale-numbers is a stick-on that will wear of in the future.
Otherwise it is a great scale, good inside out.

The scale is sturdy and well constructed, but light enough that I carry it with me in my tackle bag all the time. Has a large, wide handle. The marker slide marks the weight even after removing the fish, which is a nice touch.
