Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect! this lure brings the legendary shad rap into the shallows to pull those lunkers out were they have never seen a shad rap before! April 25, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Lure I have ever used! I first started using these lures in Canada about 10 years ago primarily for smallmouth bass. I use a fluorocarbon leader and always use the Rapala knot. I catch bass in almost any depth of clear water but especially around rocky bottoms or shore lines. At home in Kansas I have caught largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleyes, wipers and crappie in our local lakes and reservoirs. If I take out a novice, I usually have them tie on one of these and I have never been disappointed. My only complaint is that the Olathe, KS store does not stock these lures. February 21, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Killer Crankbait Deadly on schooling bass in the spring and fall. The bait runs true right out of the box. January 26, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great lure this is great for saltwater grass beds or shallow lakes or along the bank for fresh water January 25, 2011

I think the crooked lip just keeps the lure from running too deep and also keeps it from hanging up.

A steady retrieve will produce the normal side to side action but a pop and pause will get it to do some radical things to include turn 180 degrees. For some reason that drives the fish nuts around here.

The action is more erratic than the usual side to side. I like to fish it with twitches and jerks. Makes bass crazy.

absolutely - caught lots of pickerel on these here in Massachusetts. The #7 size in silver, gold, or perch works best for me in these waters.

Yes, pickerel will bite anything a LM bass will. They tend to like fast moving and brightly colored lures......good luck

it runs shallow but if the grass is that close to the surface i would advise a top water lure or weedless plastic.

It's dependent on lure size and retrieve but 2 to 6 feet is normal.

This lure runs anywhere from 6 - 0 ft. It depends on how far you cast and how fast you retrieve it.

The lure is rated at depths of 4 to 11 feet depending on how fast you retrieve it of course. If you do a twitch and pause retrieve, you can keep it at two feet but if you want to run something around 2 feet at a steady crank, i would recommend some of the Bomber shallow running cranks. They make some that run as shallow as 12inches... I hope this helps... Good fishin!

I just want to hear your suggestions for your favorite shallow runners for bass. Mine would probably be the Bandit 100, the Storm Subwart, Rapala Floater, and Rebel Crawfish. I just want to hear your opinion. Thanks

Mann's Baby -1 Minus is killer for largemouth bass in shallow water. For smallies, I have not found any better crankbait than the Rebel Crawfish(I have mainly fished smallmouth in streams).

My favorite is a Rebel Bumble Bug it will catch loads of bluegill and bass too. Also one of my favorites to use is the Bomber Square A Series. I just started to use the Rapala Shallow Shad Rap and have caught fish with it but haven't used it long enough to consider it a "go to" bait for me.
