Rapala Scatter Rap Crank
Once again another product from rapala that doesn't life up to the enormous hype they make it out to be. They can't keep up with strike king or SPRO and its because of products like this. Firstly, if you want a bait that "scatters" and hunts, get a squarebill, not this. I don't know what kinda action they are talking about, it doesn't do it at any speed especially a faster kne. And second, rapalas products are almost never tailors towards bass fisherman because they are too light to cast with baitcasting gear, it weighs about a 1/4 oz. Their DT series was good. This doesn't cut it. Not buying again.

New design, big win
These are very versatile crank baits. Whilst still best using them bouncing off structure, brush, rocks etc, they can also be used to target grouped fish suspended in mid range water, of course all crank baits can be used on this, but with the darting action side to side they generate a better reaction bite. They dart about a foot from side to side, add a little rod tip action and they become even more alive and attract any reaction bite in the area. Typical Rapala quality in manufacture, run true out of the box and hit the depths as described for precise fishing, also great finishes. I replaced most of my cranks with these baits.

Promising new crank.
I've only been fishing 3 times, and the water is cold and muddy, but I did manage to boat a 4 lb. largemouth on the Scatter Rap Crank. What I really like is how this plug gets deep fast on a slow retrieve. You need to work this slow, because it will turn over and go sideways if retrieved too fast. I use it on a 5.1 to 1 spinning outfit. It will run quickly to 8 feet on the slow retrieve. Another benefit of using it on a spinning outfit is castability, because it weighs only 5/16 oz. The Ike colors are also a plus. I found that out last year with the Rapala DT series.

fish catching machine
I'm wondering with some of the reviews if some of them are out of tune or something. For me, the thing ran just as advertised and caught some very nice smallies and large mouth bass. I had to crank it pretty fast on a 7:1 reel to get the best action but it never rolled over like some of the reviews. I could get it down around 7 feet with 15# seagar invisX with my rod tip down. It didn't hang up any worse than a square bill and I can get this thing deeper than a sq bill... I Will be getting more just wish they made one next size larger that would dive to 10'
