Rated 4 out of 5 by Chockpish1 Typical Rapala quality!
Just like every other rapala product, it's just quality! Out of the box they run true, cast a mile, swims just right! And they are saltwater approved! I haven't caught anything yet, but the weather has been so hot the past few weeks, that everything stopped biting! But I have no doubt that I will certainly catch fish!

One of my favorite lures. The pearl colored and silver and black imitate almost any type of bait fish. Has a great action, great harware, durable finish. Works great with single hooks too. Great lure for winter time stripers in our local river

Noticed that these were very nice lures and were very close to the real bait fish, I bought one in the bunker color for striped bass since I wasn't able to go get fresh bait before the shop closed and my buddy only had a couple fresh bunkers he left me. I arrived to fish the whole incoming tide and most of the outgoing, started at 10:00 at night till 6:00 in the morning, I was using my 9' ugly stick bigwater and could chuck this thing out a good distance. There were tons of stripers jumping out of the water all over the place, I tried every kind of retrieve you can think of but nothing came close to this lure. Not even a blue fish seamed interested in going after this thing. Now normally I would just try another night, but after 8 hours of casting and retrieving a lure with that 9' rod this lure failed to produce. I don't give up easily on anything I do, but after that this lure is going on my wall of shame as the most expensive lure I have ever wasted the money on and not even had a hit from a fish! Don't rely on these for any kind of action on the water, they say a bad day fishing is better than any day at home but not if you spend this much $$ on a fancy lure that does not produce results. Looks to be pretty strong with nice hooks, it sure looks like a real bunker.

If you are a "match the hatch" kind of guy like I am I would go between three patterns.
(1) black back, silver: I really like the contrast, which makes it pretty visible in stained water. I also like the red coloration under the chin that looks like an injured baitfish and I believe this elicits strikes.
(2) Olive Green: Snook love greenies, enough said
(3) Spotted Minnow: I have had great luck with this pattern in the ocean, on the beaches, and in inlets. I find this pattern looks like small spotted trout, a bit like a sea run herring, and enough like a mackerel to do the job. I have not caught snook on this pattern but I have caught stripers, sea trout, jacks, and cudas.
I will be surf fishing on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in March and am looking for suggestions or tips on lures etc. My experience in fishing is jigging or trolling the lakes of Ontario, so this will be my first time doing this.
