Rapala Rechargeable Electric Fillet Knife This is a great cordless knike! I am a crappie fisherman who cleans many fish at one time and need a knife that will hold a charge long enough to get me through a cleaning session. A fully charged battery easily lasts up to two cleaning sessions for me! I have a Rapala electric fillet knife but always had to get to an electrical outlet. I like to clean my fish right away whenever possible, this cordless knife allows me to get the job done anywhere, anytime. Rapala's packaging of the knife is excellent! It comes in a nice storage case with two knife blades, charger and not just one but two batteries. I would recommend this knife to anyone who needs a cordless solution. November 14, 2006
Great knife, lousey batteries I love the knife. It works well and allows me to fillet even large boney fish with ease. My only complaint is that the batteries don't hold charge for more than an hour, and I have one batery that won't charge at all. And this is the second set of batteries since the knife was purchased. I even had one battery in the first set that got so hot in the charger, it expanded to the point I couldn't get it out. Had to replace the whole knife kit to get new charger. Thank goodness for BassPro exchange policy. August 13, 2007
Bad Button I went to use my New knife for a big cut job over 50 walleyes and perch after 20 min my fingers started to hurt from the button it stick out to far in a point I wrote Rapala they say the button just sticks and need to be replace I say its a very bad design I returned it. I love the fact that it as 2 batteries with over 1 hour of cut time but if I can't use it because my hand hurts then it useless September 15, 2007
expensive Had a rechargable knife for about two years. Haven't used it for about six months. What a dissapointment when trying to use either battery that dont want to recharge. At $19.95 each. January 3, 2007

They worked just fine for us. We were cleaning 75-100 yellow perch per day and the blades held up just fine

I purchased a set of the replacements last year and they were the exact same blades that my knife originally came with. They worked great just like the originals!

A:
I can't answer about the rapalla, but the
american angler blades last about a year. I clean a lot of fish in the spring.
(I am not braging, but I mean a lot of fish)
I have cleaned about 200 crapie and a
lot of waleye this year.
I imagine the blades of all electric knives
last about the same. They are serated and not resharpenable.

I cleaned 500-600 fish with the blades that came with my purchase of the knife and they are still sharp. You can buy replacement blades pretty cheap.

I have owned mine for a couple of years now and I'm still using the original blades. They show no sign of wear.

Mine didn't last 1 fish. Connector of the two blades broke cleaning first fish.

Yes. I have found that the battery operated model is weak and runs the shorter blade faster.

A:
In the plastic cased set, the knife comes with two sets of blades as you mention, two batteries, and a charger.
These knives can be purchased singly cheaper, but do not have extra blade or battery.
Purchasing the set is a better deal.
