Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lousy knife The Rapala PGEFR is a really lousy electric knife. The batteries won't hold a charge even though the charger shows a full charge. The trigger is totally unworkable. The trigger is very uncomfortable to use and to grip. After cleaning just a few fish the trigger bites into your finger and then is impossible to hold to make the knife work. With no battery and an unworkable trigger the knife is truly worthless. April 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rapala rechargeable fillet knife This knife for the price is off the hook. Filleted my fish in just minutes, no fighting it at all.. Let the knife do the work. easy clean up too.. January 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by So far so good I have only used this on one fishing trip, cleaned some medium sized crappie and I was impressed with the control you have even on smaller fish. I especially like the cordless aspect. July 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by just ok Worked well for the first year, after that the batteries charge didn't last long. Now on the 3rd year I can fillet only 3 or 4 sheepshead per battery. February 16, 2012

They worked just fine for us. We were cleaning 75-100 yellow perch per day and the blades held up just fine

I purchased a set of the replacements last year and they were the exact same blades that my knife originally came with. They worked great just like the originals!

A:
I can't answer about the rapalla, but the
american angler blades last about a year. I clean a lot of fish in the spring.
(I am not braging, but I mean a lot of fish)
I have cleaned about 200 crapie and a
lot of waleye this year.
I imagine the blades of all electric knives
last about the same. They are serated and not resharpenable.

I cleaned 500-600 fish with the blades that came with my purchase of the knife and they are still sharp. You can buy replacement blades pretty cheap.

I have owned mine for a couple of years now and I'm still using the original blades. They show no sign of wear.

Mine didn't last 1 fish. Connector of the two blades broke cleaning first fish.

A:
Yes. I have found that the battery operated model is weak and runs the shorter blade faster.

A:
In the plastic cased set, the knife comes with two sets of blades as you mention, two batteries, and a charger.
These knives can be purchased singly cheaper, but do not have extra blade or battery.
Purchasing the set is a better deal.
