  • Tracks true at any speed
  • Perfecty balanced
  • Long-casting
  • Loud rattles
  • Premium VMC® Black Nickel Hooks
Perfectly balanced, the Husky Jerk Minnow can be cast or trolled at any speed and still run true. The rattle chamber transmits sound waves that amplify through the water, catching and piquing attention, and the suspending action of the Husky Jerk Minnow is just more than a fish can handle! The glass patterns offer a transparent body and a holographic ''spine'' for added flash.

I have had a couple of these for years and haven't been able to break them yet. They are called a glass minnow, but aren't made out of glass as one would think of it.

I have had my best luck fishing for Walleye using the standard black/Gold Rapalas, although I have also had luck with the clown color along with blue/silver.

you might want something that dives a little deeper because this would be so close to your boat that nothing woulld bite it but for colors it depends on your local baitfish get something that looks like a small bluegill or perch if your in murky watter I suggest something a little more flashy than you would normally use in clearer water because they will puick up light even if there isnt very muchwhere when you are in clearer water use something with a duller color to it hope this helps

I would say no. Husky jerks are fished with a sweep pause, or twitching presentation. They get a little bit of wobble when retrieved steadily, but they draw a majority of their strikes on the pause, because they suspend instead of rising. I may be wrong, but IMO there are much better lure choices out there for trolling.

I think color is a matter of preference, but as to size I would use the 3/8 & 1/2 for Northerns.

this is a great lure for northerns...color though is going to be dictated by your conditions, sun / overcast, and water clarity. I keep several of these and for example go with a bright bait silver on cloudy overcast days or after rain storm runoff makes the water muddy. Have a few types in size and color is always the best way to approach any artificial bait hard or soft. I just try one I think will work, cast it out a dozen times then experiment with other colors trying and tying until the fish tell you what they want.

The 3 1/8 and 4 inch are my favorite (most of the time I use the 4in). Glass perch, silver blue, and glass minnow are consistent producers as far as color goes.

I like the HJ6. It isn't so big that it's difficult to fish around cover and not so small that it can't be used for crappie if needed. The HJ8 is my go-to size for Pike and lunker bass.

The HJ6 dives to about 2-4 feet, but does float to the surface (slightly positive bouancy) if left alone for a few minutes.

The HJ-8 dives from about 3-5 feet.

If I understand what you are asking it pertains to the size of the lure, and I am a believer in bigger catches bigger Bass by eliminating some of the smaller ones from striking.

Two hooks, the mouth is very soft and I typically find that a bass can unhook easier with three hooks for some reason. I never have problems with two.

It just depends on where you are fishing. In big lakes use three hooks, and on small waters or ponds, use two hooks

i have no doubt that it will, but i prefer the #10...... the #12 is only a tad bigger, so i promise you that a big bass won't be bashful about eating it, as i routinely catch bass on lures that are almost twice that size.....

i would just add that you should always take the "match the hatch" factor into consideration when choosing a lure's size..

Yes it will, hopefully you have some big bass where you fish though. Unlike other large baits like poppers and big plastics, a small bass will not hit this. (At least not for me)

Yeah it will work well for bass. I would watch out for pike though, I use the HJ 14 for pike and it is very effective. A smaller version might get you more strikes from bass and less from pike but your size would be fine.

I have had luck with both. It really seems to depend on the color of the water and the weather. When it is sunny and the water is clear I will try the blue and silver first, and usually have reasonable success.

Depends on the water for me. Muddy water I like the Silver and Black. Stained I'd go with Silver and Blue. My favorite though would have to be the Fire Tiger.

Depends on where you're fishing. Check out the water and see what type of bait fish are around. Try and match the color to them. I fish in Florida and mullet are the bait fish. I usully get a gold or silver bodied bait with black back. Works well to get a "natural" color, so I'd say silver and black.

I think it depends on the water and what the bass are hunting. The small fish in my lake are hunting silver shad so the silver black works best for me.

It just depends on the water clarity. Either color will work just as well as the other. I own both, and have caught just as many bass with both. Where I fish at on Lake Mohave, in Arizona, I use a Glass Perch often and do just as well, as the other colors available

It depends on the clarity of the water. If it was murky water I'd go with Silver+Blue. But they both are about the same so you can go with whatever you want. I prefer Silver + Blue.

Good Luck,

I run out 50-75 ft of 6 lb line trolling for crappie and rarely get below 3-4 ft. HJ-6 are my favorite, but I have some HJ-08 & 10 as well- You might try a heavier hook to get it down more.
