Have had one of these in the boat since day one. Replacing the worn out with a new one. Made for larger hook sharpening such as #2 bait hooks or large single soft bait hooks. Probably work on large treble hooks also. took ten years to wear out the first one, back for more.

I've tried this thing and really can't get the hang of it! It's kinda OK for single hooks! Just not as good as a file!

This sharpener definitely works and it is small if space is at a premium...but it is a bit awkward to use on many crankbaits. For individual hooks however, it works beautifully.
My file didn't stay locked in the open position, so while using it, I had to hold the file open as well as try to hold the hook and sharpen it. The file is also a little to compact, making it difficult to use on larger 3/0 and 4/0 treble hooks.
It works, but there are better hook files out there.

This product is okay for its intended use, but I thought the back side was a flat file. The back is covered by plastic and is not avaialable as a flat file. Difficult to work on treble hooks.
