The Rattlin' Foam Frog is constructed with Rainy's chewy foam, and coated with their proprietary flexible foam paint for added realism and durability. This big bass Rattlin' Foam Frog offers a nice compromise between a hard-bodied popper and a deer hair bug. Plus, this poppers rattle virtually ensures non-stop top-water action.

great for hog bluegill. typically fish this right on he banks of the elkhorn creek. it is great because the litle fish are scared of it but the pigs slam it.

I only bought one of these to try out, being a little skeptical. It was a little heavy to cast. I caught one small bass on the second cast. On about the 5th or 6th cast I was popping it along at a good pace and a big fish hit the fly and broke the tippet at the tie on with the leader. It was a big fish, and I was so surprised I was slow to give line. I will be buying more of this fly!

I bought this because it was recommended to me by a BPS employee. It works great. I actually cast it using a 7' MH spinning rod and not a fly rod. It only gets about 10-12 feet away, but I still catch fish. The bass love the popping action and the bluegill even hit it from time to time. Most of the bluegills are too small to swallow it, so step down a size and stick with the same color scheme for that. It hardly ever hangs up in the weeds and will right itself after the first pull on it. All in all, a good popper. I can imagine the casting distance would greatly increase on a fly rod and would improve the chances of attracting fish.
