I was satisfied with the product. The straps definitely needed some additional support. The carrier kept our belongings dry. I will definitely use it again when the need arises.

i purchased this product to take a cross-country trip from florida to eastern canada. i was quite skeptical after reading the reviews but did not want to invest a lot of money in a product i was not likely to use again. i have a honda crv and found that it was quite large. while it fit on the roof of the vehicle i did not have enough things to fill out the carrier as shown in the picture. the straps on the carrier are quite flimsy and would recommend you purchase additional ratchet straps to ensure safe travels. 2 - 2"x 8' for our size vehicle. it stayed secure and held up well through the rain. we found nothing to be damp or wet and we drove through a few thunderstorms although we did take necessary precautions by wrapping everything in space bags and plastic.

I bought one of these for myself, as well as for my daughter & son-in-law. It provides ample storage on top of a vehicle, but the problem I had with both of them, was that the carrier didn't remain "waterproof". The inner "waterproof" lining dry rotted in both of these carriers. I like the item as a roof-top carrier, but on my way to Minnesota this June, we hit a thunderstorm & most items inside the carrier were wet when we arrived.

This fits the roof rack of my Forester perfectly. On my first trip, the straps proved to be almost worthless. After 3 hours we stopped for gas and checked the load. All the straps were lose, some more than others. I tightened all the straps and within the next 20 minutes 2 had come entirely undone. Because one of the back straps came lose and flapped for a few miles, it wore thru the rain protective cover in a small spot. Overall, I still like the product and will use it again, but I would advise you to go ahead and get some good ratchet tie-downs.
