One set of earmuffs amplified just fine, but did not suppress loud noises--not what you want when shooting a rifle. I ordered two pair and since one didn't work, I didn't even open the 2nd pair. Maybe it was just one defective pair...I don't know. We have other, higher quality Radians earmuffs that work just fine.

The electronics on one side did not work. Bass Pro also sells this same pair under the Redhead name. Tried those too and they had a loud buzz/hum. Disappointed that Bass Pro sells such an inferior product.

I've used these 4-5 times now. They are built nice and have a very good adjustable head band. I could use a slightly larger diameter ear cushion though. They are low profile enough to not get in the way and allow a good cheek weld. The audio has a little hiss but nothing too distracting. Amplification is good. It's strange at first to be able to hear so well with earmuffs. The headband is very tight so you'll want shooting glasses with thin legs or it'll hold the earmuffs away from your ears and let in too much sound.

I have used them for 6 years on an average 5 days a week on rifle ranges 7.62 to 50 cal. Having to constantly have dialouge with students and withstand 3 to 6 hours of shooting these are the best hearing protection headsets I found. I have tried many. The independant controls allow me excellent directional hearing. Having them on some days for 5 continous hours I am pleased with the comfort.

Thin is a relative size. They are thin enough without the usual bulk. In cold weather I do where them under headgear with no problem.1 of 1
