I've never had the hearing protection that I felt was adequate, using any single type of hearing protection. The Noise Reduction of any of these types of earmuffs can be increased by also using a pair of the foam-type in-ear plugs. Insert the foam plugs in your ear canal, then use these muffs over the top of your ears. You now have DOUBLE PROTECTION.

This is effective gear for sighting in for adults and younger shooters as well. I wish the rating was a little higher, but they are still very good.
