I was given these boots for X-Mas last year because the place I deer hunt has Timber Rattlers, Cotton Mouths, Copper Heads and Moccassins. I have worn them three times. The previous two times it was very dry because we are in a drought. On dry land they meet expectations for comfort. Thye are not very easy to put on or take off and the zipper catches on the backing.
I stepped into water just over my ankle for long enough to step out of it (2-3 seconds TOPS) and my foot was soaked. I for one am very tired of boot makers claiming something is waterproof when it is not.
I am going to see if I can take them back and exchange them, I can guarantee that I will never buy another Rocky product, their level of quality has gone way down.

So comfortable! Cant say enough about these boots. Exactly what i was looking for with a early season hot weather boot. Comfy, cool, waterproof, and most important snake proof.

This boot is great until you try to walk through water. I have had this boot for 1 1/2 year only used 5-6 times and my feet always get wet. Bad boot or maybe bad luck. Never again....

Comfortable, easy break-in, easy on-off, quiet, good sent control, dry, warm enough for SE US, and snake proof...whatelse or more could one reasonably want in a deer hunting boot?

I have used them to hunt quail in South Texas which is an area notorius for large rattlesnakes. I am careful where I step and so have only had one strike on them. It did not penetrate nor did the snakes fangs hang on the boot which seems to be a frequent occurence with snake boots.

Have been hit twice while working (surveying) and both were cottonmouths and they didn't come close. One even got a fang hung in the right boot and wasn't even close and the boot has never leaked. Had to remove him myself before killing it...co-worker took pic.Images for this Answer

Yes, they do lace up and side zip. It is a good idea. You only have to lace them up one time for fit purposes. After that just use the zipper. It is a whole lot faster than lacing them everytime.A:Â
Yes. You set them for the clothes type you will be wearing, Zipped and Tied. then if you would like you can use them like slip-ons with the zipper. great advantage1 of 1
