Rated 5 out of 5 by Flyguy123 The Best Fluorocarbon
This stuff is fantastic -- strong, high tensile strength for its diameter, abrasion resistant, etc. After having used every fluorocarbon tippet material available to fly fishermen I've come to the conclusion that this is the best.
I am also a fan of Seaguar Grand Max which is also strong but doesn't have quite the abrasion resistancy of this product.
My only complaint of all these fluorocarbons is their cost -- they are way too expensive.

Purchased two spools of 7x. One spool was great the other was not so good. Material must have broken down. Would not hold a knot. Broke everytime I tested a new knot. After about five tries I threw the spool in the trash. But, the good spool was fantastic. Fooled some very wary landed locked salmon in low water - bright sun conditions. Great strength for a 7x.

A:
This is almost impossible to answer because the X size is referring to a specific diameter. Here is a chart of X sizes:0x = .011"
1x = .010"
2x =.009"
3x = .008"
4x= .007"
5x= .006"
6x= .005"
7x= .004"
8x= .003"
The X size is referring to the average diameter of the line, not the lb test. Two different lines which average the same diameter can be significantly different in lb test.
For example I've seen 0x diameter (.011") range in lb test from as little as 8lb test to as much as 15lb test.
If you are purchasing a premium brand such as Orvis, Rio, Seguar, etc. you will find there are subtle differences in the lb test in each size. Generally speaking these materials will have a higher lb test per diameter than conventional fishing lines.
A:
7X = 2.2 lb., 6X = 3 lb., 5X = 4.4 lb., 4X = 5 lb., 3X = 6.6 lb., 2X = 8.8 lb., 1X = 10 lb., 0X = 13.2 lb.1 of 1
