This has made primimng both small pistol and large rifle much more efficient. I am just using the large press pin for both ... I never change it and it works great.

After purchasing this priming tool last fall, I started reading on other sites that folks were having problems with it. A few had stated the primers did not want to line up right with the pocket. So I anxiously got everything ready to use mine.
At first, I noticed what others were saying about the primer and pocket not wanting to line up. While my first response was to throw a fit, I quickly remembered the tool coming with an allen wrench. So I loosened up the universal shell holder and shifted it the way I thought it needed to go. After a couple trials, I hit the sweet spot.
It has been plucking away fine since. Just finished up what should be shell #2000 the other day. Grabbing some more tonight on the way home.

It is a good product. It is well made, and appears that it will hold up well. I've used mine to prime over 3000 rounds so far without incident.
When using this tool, you literally never need touch the primers. With mine, squeezing the prime handle all the way closed insures a perfect seating depth each time. Seats below flush or flush, depending on the brass used. I have had one shell "ping" out of the holder, but this was brass from new S & B, which has very tight primer pockets; almost a primer crimp on them. So no fault of the device.
Placing primers onto the tray almost always results in a few flipped upside down. The grooves on the tray allow you to gently shake the tray back and forth, and this will flip all the primers the correct way. Pretty cool!

The RCBS universal hand primer is a great hand priming tool. I wanted to get more control of priming my 308 cases, because I am reloading for an M1A, and if the primers aren't seated fully, it can cause a "slam fire", causing damage to the gun (and maybe the shooter!). The manual says you get a good feel for when primer is going in, and when it is seated. That's the perfect description for it. I have excellent control to make sure the primers are seated fully.
It is easy to change from small primers to large primers. The different inserts are color coded, to make sure the correct one is in place, and changing out the primer pin is simple with the tool provided.
Some other reviews on different web sites say that sometimes shells "pop out" of the universal shell holder. I have reloaded over 500 rounds with this now, and have never experienced this. I have reloaded 223 and 308, and I have not had one slip out. This is a great tool I, and highly recommend it.
