Turtle for Kids The other reviews are dead on. You get what you pay for. This is a nifty little tool, that is very compact. The way it folds is very innovative. The main problem is that it is a keychain rather than an actual tool. The wire cutter does not cut the fishing line or even a thick sheet of paper. The knife isn't too sharp, but if enough force is applied you might be able to cut yourself. The sharpest and perhaps most useful tool is the tip of the knife, which I use as a tooth pick. Fisherman's Little Helper This is a small, compact, versatile tool for SMALL jobs. I was pleasantly surprised to find the pliers spring loaded so they re-open by reducing pressure on the handles. They will be excellent for crimping shot sinkers when the Trout or Walleye are down deep. I had to swipe both sides of the knife blade about 20 times each with my hook sharpener to put on a good edge...it took about 60 seconds to do that. I have one clipped on a D-Ring on my Fly Fishing Vest and the other one is on a D-Ring on my Walleye Tackle Bag. Now all I need to do is schedule a long weekend for a fishing trip on the White River and Bull Shoals Lake with my 2 grandsons, Jimmy - 8 and Billy - 6 years old. I can see it now, they will end up talking Grandpa out of his new fishing pliers because they are just the right size for their hands. Take your Kids and/or Grandkids FISHING !!! They grow up SO fast. December 26, 2012
Good Idea but.. I bought this Swiss army turtle thinking I could shave a few bucks on avoiding buying a few tools separately for my freshwater set up, and its a good idea but it opens and closes poorly, the "line clipper" crimps it at best (4lb test) the keychain ring gets in the way when you close it to use any/all of the other tools on it making it a real pain and overall it's a good idea but poorly executed August 31, 2013
