It has been about 20 years since I bought a new rod. The ones I had were made in the 80's and thought they were pretty good. But the KVD series that I recently purchased are outstanding. I could not believe how light they were and the sensitivity to feeling bottom structure and the light bite as Bill Dance puts it is amazing. I plan to buy more of these products as soon as possible. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to purchase an excellent rod at an affordable price.

Why is it that all the negative reviews for this rod have been for it breaking while it was new or fairly new. Mine was three days old, the second time I had carried it, and it snapped at the second eye under the strain of a 4lb. largemouth. I wish you could rate them less than 1 star, I think poor is too good of a rating. I have an 7'6" All-Star that is over ten years old, I replaced the eyes last summer, going with 12 instead of 8 for a little more backbone and it is still a beast of a rod. I catch 20lb.+ blues and stripers regularly on it and I have never even heard it crack. And you can get the Classic series for half the price of the KVD. So, I guess if the Abu I replaced the Quantum with, doesn't hold up, I will go back to the All-Star.

I purchased a 6'6 medium pole about a year and a half ago. The second fishing trip I used it on my line kept getting frayed and eventually broke with every hook set. I realized the eye at the tip had chipped and became sharp. I take care of my poles pretty well but, hey, accidents happen so maybe it was my fault. BPS took care of it and got it replaced no charge which was awesome. The new pole, same length etc. worked flawlessly for about 4 months. This time, I went to skip my tube under a branch and the pole snapped 2/3 of the way up. No excessive pressure. No aggressive movements on snags. I am not too happy about spending the money for a quality pole and it breaking so easily

Rated 5 out of 5 by knotstrength Casts well - very good sensitivity
Mines a 7' medium heavy fast action. Throws lures good distance and you can tell when a fish is swimming behind the crank bait. Light weight, nice feel in the handle, poll looks good with KVD's signature on it.
