Very nice , easy to setup the brakes. the best thing about this combo, for me, is that you can make short pitches very easy & the next cast, without changing the settings, crank it up & throw the lure half way across the lake. The reel handles as well as the $300 KVD Tour, just not as much line capacity. Good drag, smooth running reel. Rod has a shorter handle, makes it a very good pitching rod for me. The combo is well balanced, and handles well. Overall I think that it is well worth the money. Real good combo for someone looking for a moderately priced combo that gives you the feel & performance of a much more expensive combo. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 9 3/4.

this combo really performed very well .. i put 12lb floro on it and it casts and reels silky smooth . the duel braking system works great and is super easy and fast to use .. the whole combo is light and comfortable in the hands too . first day out with it and i cought plenty of fish . the rod action felt great and the slightest nibble can be felt with no mistake .. easy hook sets allday . i cast this combo for four hours strait and only 2 backlashes and they were my fault , or the tree's fault ?? . overall i plan to get another one . love this rod , and the price is just crazy cheep in my opinion ..

I purchased this combo a few weeks ago, I was originally going to go with the abu silvermax combo at first but when I seen the price of this combo was only 15$ more then the abu but the combo was 10$ cheaper then the reel by itself, I started to compare research the 2 reels. The simple fact that this is a 11 bearing reel, W/ the flipping switch and dual braking system plus im8 rod. While the abu is a 6 bearing with a im6 rod sigle magnetic brakes. I also prefer the look of this one compared to the abu. Now I have recently purchased a similar combo I got the bps pro qualifier, and yes I know how much the bps employees talk up this reel and combo. But I must say I prefer the accurist, I think it's overall much smoother, quieter, looks better and feels better in my hand. Not to mention I've had zero backlash with it and I like the cork handle better. With the pro Q, Ive had my share of backlash. Now dont get me wrong the pro qualifier is a great combo I like it allot but i like the accurist better. The other problem I faced with the pro Q was it is horrible with braid, it,s so loud and unbearable. I have yet to try braid on the accurist.
