Best overall in its class ! Let me save you some time... I completely compared this to every reel in its class for line capacity, drag, number of bearings, gear ratio, and retrieve rate. It topped them all- especially in drag. Some of the reels I have and like can't match the line capacity (Stradic FJs, Spinfishers). I got the PT60 and put it to the test. It's almost no fun catching something under 100 lbs ! The drag is so unbelievable smooth- and sensitive ! I use this for tarpon and snook, and I just stand back and let them wear themselves out- then horse 'em in for a quick release. I got 400 yds. of 30lb braid, 40lb flouro leader, and matched up to a Star Stellar lite 15-30lb heavy. Whatta combo ! This is an excellent real. October 6, 2014
A Premier Saltwater Reel This is a premier saltwater reel and I am a better fisherman because of it. I bought the Cabo 50 late this summer and put some 8 pound mono on it, for just wade fishing in Galveston and Corpus Christi. Terrific reel that packs 35 pounds of drag that is smooth as silk into a 14.1 oz. reel. The pro's use this one on tv in the Florida Keys doing inshore and flats fishing and that is what drew me to it. I also use this as a got o reel for channel catfish in the Denton area and absolutely love it December 23, 2014
one of best spinning reels This is one of the best spinning reels I've owned (I have over 30 years fishing experience.) I am referring to the previous design older model. I have the 40 size and use it in brackish and salt water. It has caught hundreds of fish over several years the biggest being a shore caught 30# salmon. Its durable, strong, fast line retrieve, sealed well from the elements, strong drag, can handle braid, magnetic bail doesn't break down, for real instant anti-reverse, and the best part, a solid one-piece metal handle - no fear of it getting unscrewed. The only bad part is a slight tisting of the line which causes wind knots in braid and twisted line with spinner baits. November 28, 2013
Quantum Cabo PT, Awesome! Purchased 2 of these reels from Bass Pro. Absolutely love these reels! Especially the bails! You can feel the great quality, from the first click of the bail and the smoothness of the reel. Switched from Mitchell 300s, because I was having too much trouble, with their bails, not closing. These Quantum spinning reels, are well worth the extra money spent, knowing, they will last much longer, than any other reel, I've owned in the past! April 21, 2014

I was too... and I was going to get an expensive shimano rod until the salesman showed me a Star Stellar lite. The Shimanos were really loose at the tip- flimsy. He showed me an 8' 15-30lb Star stellar lite and that's all I need to know ! The tip was nice and stiff. I was reluctant at first, but after getting into 30-125lb class tarpon- I couldn't be happier ! Those shimanos woulda bent in half like a horseshoe. This Star Rod is perfect for what you want to use it for... and the reel even better, I got the PT60.

You will want to look for a Saltwater Spinning Rod 6’ and up rod which is rated for 20# to 30# mono line. Trolling is one of the most productive methods of catching dolphin. Also, try a stand-up rod.
