Corrosive sea water and big, super-aggressive fish spell trouble for ordinary tackle. That's why Quantum's engineers intentionally overbuilt the CaboPT Saltwater Spinning Reels, with an exclusive Saltgard™ 6-layer protective finish, custom polymer/stainless bearings, heat-defeating ceramic drag, and ultra-smooth PT™ gears bathed in Hot Sauce™ lubricant. The goal? Zero chance for failure. Ever.

I'm using 60 and 70's. I recomend 70's for anglers looking to keep the fight time down to 30-40 minutes or are not skilled anglers.

I have 4 Cabo pt 20's with 10 pound Suffix 832, 2 Cabo pt 30's with 20 pound 832, 2 Cabo pt 40's with 30 pound 832 and 2 Cabo pt 60's with 50 pound 832. 832 is the best braid on the market in my opinion. I have caught many fish in the 20 lb range on the 20's without any problems in open water. Great product I recommend it to anyone serious about good equipment. In fresh water I use Quantum Smoke 150 HPT's with 20 lb 832.

Dear Bugsmoe,

Although it's more than a year ago that you posted your question I would recommend the 7 ft. St. Croix Triump Saltwater.

I would go with the SWC70MHF . Its a medium heavy 7 ft Premiere Saltwater model. I use a similar rod with my CSP50PTs (Medium heavy 6'6" model). I'm basing this on the size of the reel you have and presume you'll be usiing this offshore and not casting tidal or flats.
