Quality Control Issue? I bought a pursuit X1 40 mm and to me it seems bright enough. I bought it for the option to use a blue light. What can I say I'm a sucker for blue! The only problem I see with it is that there is no noticeable change in strength or brightness of the light when you switch between the different selections. The design itself seems rugged enough though. If someone doesn't like the strength of the light in the scope, I'd suggest writing the manufacturer to get a replacement. This is a cheaper scope, and it does switch between three different colors, so it may not have the same precision you would expect from a one color scope with many brightness options. Poor quality I bought this because they had it for sale in the flyer and I've been wanting one to put on my Stag Arms AR. I read the only other review on this and it was poor. I just figured that guy may have just got a bad one and everyone else was happy with theirs because there was not a lot of reviews. I had the same issue as the other review. I mounted it and the dot was very light and you could bearly see it. I figured well heck I'll just deal with that. When I took it to the range it kept disappearing. You would have to turn it off and on and tap it to make it come on. Spend about 10 or 20 bucks more and get the Bushnell TRS 25. December 24, 2012
huge disappointment Bought an expensive AR15 from BPS and thought I'd save some money on the red dot scope. Big mistake, co-witnessed it with iron sights at twilight and took it to the range the next day. Zero dot showing. Thought the battery was dead even though I could see the led at the source on the side. Changed batteries again, went to range.....no dot. Changed battery at the range and...no dot. Works fine at night or in low light. Dot disappears during day. November 25, 2012
on the money I bought a X1 30mm (SKU 1895056) for use on my Benjamin NP Trail pellet pistol and I am very satisfied with it. With the original metal rear sight on the pistol, I could not even hit the target paper at 50ft! After some zeroing in with the Pursuit I am now able to produce a 1" grouping at 50ft that will punch the center out of the target, much to the dismay of the "cannon" shooters. The brightness changes are very noticeable but I normally use level 1 or 2 even in the darkest ranges. I prefer the plain "cross" reticle and would like it better if it covered the full field of view as I wear blended trifocals and it is a little difficult to center in the right section of my glasses. Make sure that you mount it with the front facing forward (there is a front/back). I didn't at first and said a few expletives before I figured it out. September 3, 2013

Which one works best?

Details:
I am mounting this on my wife's Remington Model 597 10/22, which will be used for plinking and maybe squirrell hunting. Is the #5054 sufficient or do I need the #5055.
Is there another brand that would work better?
