Pursuit Magnetic Boresighter
I used this boresighter on 2 different muzzle loading rifles that just had new scopes installed and both shot within 3" of the bullseye at 25 yards to help get the guns on paper for sighting in. It is a very simple item to use, stick it on the end of the barrel, it doesn't have to be perfectly lined up, just somewhere close and dial your reticles to the center of the boresighter. Simple as that.
As another reviewer noted, once you have your scope sighted in, you can put the boresighter back on and note where the reticles line up as a future reference in case the scope is hit or something else happens that could cause it to lose zero.

Really like it
This device is really simple. Use it once and you wont want use another type of bore sighter again. The magnet is strong and holds in place well. It is compact and can fit in a travel bag, range bag, or duffel if your going on a hunting trip. You also dont need any tools and there are no parts to fumble with or lose. The nice thing is you dont have to worry about how you place it. Just put it on the end of your barrel as best you can, line up your cross hairs and your are good to go. The package it came in says its also fogproof/waterproof/shockproof. I cant verify that because I have not used it in bad weather or dropped it. It looks like its made of plastic but its metal. I wish I would have got in on sale but even at that with the price of ammo these days its easily worth the price. It will get you on paper at 25 yards and your good to go. Once your gun is sighted in, you can put it back on your barrel and record where the cross hairs are on the bore sighter and use that to check to see if your gun is still sighted in later. Nice feature if you travel a long way to hunt, drop your gun, bump your scope, ect... All in all this thing is easily worth the price and so quick and easy to use that its the only way to go. The only thing I am not sure its good for is an AR-15 or similar type of weapon. If you have a flat top you shouldnt have an problems. I have a carry handle/red dot scope on my AR but its too high for the device to reach. And when your done just stick it on your safe so you dont lose it......cant beat that!

bore sighting aid???
This item is very similar to the Leupold bore sighter.
the problem with this item is that it is NOT long enough to use on a rifle with a flash hider or any type of NON flat and smooth end of rifle barrel. It tends to wobble on the end of a tactical type rifle. Before I gave up I used a rather long magnet(used to hang screw drivers) and placed it at end of my 223 Sig. It gave enough length to magnetic attachment to barrel. I believe I am on the money now that I have created a contraption to make it work. It will probably work fine on a bolt action rifle or any other type with a flat and smooth end to barrel. I will report further after I give it a shot at the outdoor range tomorrow.
