This the 1st year I've used this product. Not a total believer, but have had a few unexplained results with this attached to the downrigger. With the black box attached to my port downrigger I caught 5 kokanee, the starboard downrigger never got a hit. Hard to believe, but I saw it with my own 2 eyes.
Another time I forgot to turn the volume on to .655 for kokanee. Fished for 2 hours and no hits, before I noticed the black box was turned off. Turned it on, and within 5 minutes I landed my 1st fish of the day. The day total for that trip was, 3 kokanee for the black box, 2 kokanee for long line pole.

I purchased this product a few years ago and I am not convinced it works! A west coast salmon guide told me that it does work on salmon but I am not convinced it works for freshwater stripers.
