Reliable starting My van and my pick-up all too often did not have the juice to start the engine if they had not been driven for a few days. I'd had enough, so I purchased two"onboard" charge maintainers and semi-pemanently mounted them in both vehicles. I secured each unit to the top of the battery using 2 inch wide hook and loop tape, and ran the cord and plug out of the grills. The units work great and the engine heat does not seem to matter. The price is right considering the price of good batteries. I do hope that they last longer than the one year guarantee. July 19, 2013
Great item - real time saver This item eliminates the need to remove the battery from the boat to recharge. Now I have the battery hard-wired and firmly affixed to the boat deck in a battery box. Quality of the item is great, it was easy to install in my boat. Seems to do a great job of maintaining the battery. Price was better than comparable items I researched. Would give it 5 stars if I had more than two weeks of use from the product. Does not come with a full product instruction manual, but I easily downloaded one for free from the company's website. Small charger You do need ? where each wire gos to the battery as this cheap unit. Seems to work good. I have this on a small 14 alum boat. My Range has a 4 bank. I have only had it pluged in three time but seems to charge the battery. The light stays on all the time it is pluged in to 110V. Very had to tell if the battery is at full charge. May 21, 2010

A:
it is wataerproof. When the plug is connected, it should be kept dry. One wrap of duct tape should be good. It doesn't have to be dry when not plugged in!
