ProControll Transom Trolling Motor Foot Control
Works like a champ
Sorry to read all the negative reviews. However, mine works like a champ. Yes it does take a little getting used to. For instance, don't try to make a turn at high speed. Let off the pedal, then change directions. Don't expect to get the same reaction as a bow mounted trolling motor. A transom mount is pushing the boat and not pulling as a bow mount does. It was frustrating at first, but it does take a little practice. It won't turn on a dime when trolling at a 5 or 6 on the trolling motor. The optimum speed is probably a 2 or 3, which is perfect going down the bank. I've owned mine since 2009 or 2010 and love it. Mine fits perfectly on my 14 foot Bass Tracker. I use a 40lb BPS Prowler Trolling Motor. This is the perfect combination. At a $119.99, it's a steal!!!!

Does not work for canoe application
I purchased ProControll so that I can operate my trolling motor using the foot control on my canoe. Although this product looks like it is well built and solid, it does not work for applications where you want to locate the trolling motor battery away from the stern of the boat. I keep my battery up near the mid-section of my 17 foot square stern canoe to balance the load and the ProControll will not work with that setup because the installation of the device requires some splicing into your trolling motor electrical cable and it also contains cables to connect directly to your battery. These cable attachments are located near the motor mount and not the foot control and they are short. Unless you go through the trouble to purchase additional electrical cables and splice them to all the attachments, you have to keep your battery at the stern of the boat. It wasn't worth the additional hassle for me so I returned it.

Love this item
I recently bought this product over the weekend, It was a snap at installing. I tested it out on the water Sunday and fell in love with it. It does everything it supposed to. I have had no problem with the steering, cables, ect.
