I purchased ProControll so that I can operate my trolling motor using the foot control on my canoe. Although this product looks like it is well built and solid, it does not work for applications where you want to locate the trolling motor battery away from the stern of the boat. I keep my battery up near the mid-section of my 17 foot square stern canoe to balance the load and the ProControll will not work with that setup because the installation of the device requires some splicing into your trolling motor electrical cable and it also contains cables to connect directly to your battery. These cable attachments are located near the motor mount and not the foot control and they are short. Unless you go through the trouble to purchase additional electrical cables and splice them to all the attachments, you have to keep your battery at the stern of the boat. It wasn't worth the additional hassle for me so I returned it.

I recently bought this product over the weekend, It was a snap at installing. I tested it out on the water Sunday and fell in love with it. It does everything it supposed to. I have had no problem with the steering, cables, ect.

needs help foot pedel flexs, cable snaps out off clips in base. need to use goop to glue cables sleeves into base clips. had to allso add a plastic bar to stiffen cable to foot pedel lever

a nice idea but does not work well at all does not steer the motor well very hard to get motor to turn sloppy play in the cables...

Just install it and go! Everything you need comes in the box. I installed mine in about 30 - 45 minutes. I'm not a very electrical person and it took me a couple of times to get the wiring right. But now I can't imagine fishing without it! It's mounted on the front of my 14' jon boat ... with another trolling motor mounted on the back.1 of 1
