Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 67 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by hughes003 DO NOT BUY I purchased this camera last season. Within one month the SD port would not recognize any SD cards. I returned the camera to Promise. EIGHT weeks later I received my new camera. No problems with the camera the rest of the season. This year I placed the camera with new batteries. It worked for about a month and now its dead. I've tried everything I could think of to make it work, but no luck. This camera is junk and I wouldn't give it my worst enemy.. Don't waste your money on Promise cameras. January 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cuehughe Primos truth cam Have three cameras. . If I buy more- they will be primos!! January 7, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Inkfreak Yours might work I used the camera for a day indoors playing with the settings. It worked fine till I got it out doors where it started flashing error codes and would not take a picture. I returned it and got a new one. I let that one adjust to the temperature before I turned it on and that one worked for about 3 days and 200 pictures that would be triggered by moving branches. All my pictures of animals were tails leaving. Then that one died. It took 9 cameras till I got one that worked semi normally. I wouldnt normally return something more than twice but I needed a camera that locks up as well as this one does. I wish It would get better range in the night time like my Moultrie. The one up side to this camera is the battery life with energizers is great. I would guess it took about 250,000 shots. If you can get one that works when needed it does take good pictures and video. I do like the programing menus and options. The camera is loud for something that does not have moving parts so If you have skittish deer you might only see tails too. November 8, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Kutie TruthjCam 46 I have purchased several of the Primo Products and have been happy with most. The 46 has given good clean pictures and battery life has been very good. October 31, 2012

This version is pretty secure. There is a door lock and a cable lock on the housing. We use this one in high traffic areas to capture trespassers as well as wild life.

It does have security holes that you can feed a strap on with a lock at either end, but those don't come with it.

This camera can be secured to a tree or post with a Masters Python Locking Cable. The front access area where the camera is turned on and the SD card is placed can be locked also but it would require a separate small lock. I hope this helps.

Staff Answer
A:
The best way to keep a game/trail camera from being damaged is by using a security box that the manufacturer makes. Be sure to use the box that the trail camera's manufacturer makes as these will fit your trail camera in most instances.

A:
Depending on how it is setup. I have some pics during daylight that are shot using IR, but it's due to my poor setup, not the cams fault.

Is there a suitable camera where trespassers could not see any flash to know the camera was there?

Definitely not. A good trail camera will not make a peep when it takes a picture, however, this camera makes a noise that is easily heard from 20 feet. I have a Bushnell that is dead silent.

Any IR game camera will illuminate red when the IR goes off in total darkness. It's hard to see - but if you're looking at it, it is there.

Most cams will also "click" when they take a picture as well. Doesn't sound like a shutter, but it is noticeable when it's quiet.

It is very visable at night to anyone. If someone walked say 100 ft down lens. It would be as easy to see as a christmas tree.

i do not believe that a ir flash is visable to the human eye. i know for a fact that the sensors in your tv read ir flashes from your tv remote and we cant see them. im not deffinatley saying we cant see them but i dont think its probable.

It comes with 2 nylon strips that fits around most trees. You can also rig a security cable that would make it more difficult to steal.

A:
The strap or a different brand mounting bracket is the best option for adjusting the camera angle and mounting to a tree.

I bought the Primos bracket with my first truth cam and it is junk. It works nice, but will not tighten the camaera down enough to withstand a curiousity bump from a deer's nose.

It comes with a strap that does pretty well or you could use the standard one inch thick tie down strap but bungee cables probably wouldn't work so well

It comes with a normal strap to hang it. A bracket is not needed, it is intended to make it easier to angle the camera up and down for more precise aiming.

It comes with a strap that seemed to work pretty well for me, I have 2 of them. One is attatched to a fence post, and the other a tree. The strap holds them pretty solid.
