In photo mode you can select 1 or 3 shot mode, you can also have 3 delay settings to select from.
Video, only has the delay settings after each use to change.
Unfortunately, this camera does not take still pictures when set to video mode. It's still a great camera. I have two of them and they both work very well. I usually keep mine set for pictures, but every once in a while I will switch it over to video for a couple days to see what I find. Hope this helps.
When in my house, it displays the same temp as my digital thermostat. Sometimes it's a degree or two +/-, but overall I think it's pretty accurate. I have two of these and they both have the same readings when on together.
Check the memory size of your SD card. If it is more than 8GB, you may get an error message like that. This cam only supports up to 8GB. Also, check the little tiny switch on either the top or side of your SD card. If it is in the "lock" position, the card will not format. Flip the switch, reformat the card and see if that works. Hope this helps.
