I tried this call for the first time ever last night. I had never before used any type of Ki-Yi call but this one sounded particularly realistic when I concentrated on making it sound like an injured pup. Sure enough... a big, aggressive male came in. He was extremely curious, but curiosity killed the cat.... and the coyote.

Top notch predator call, if your new or inexperienced you can learn to blow this call with the mouth piece on. Or when you get more skilled you can take the mouth piece off and make some absolutely amazing sounds with open reed.
I've called in just about every predator there is with this call, from raccoons to coyotes just about any animal will want to come check out whats making all the racket.

bought this based on other reviews and couldn't be happier. sounds are great and you can get a huge variety of sounds with a little practice.

Absolutely, if you take the mouth piece off and practice using this as an open reed call you can fool just about anything into coming into this. I've had turkeys come into this call just out of curiosity.A:Â
I have had great success when I was stationed in Ontario Canada with using the Ki-Yi. I used is with and without the mount piece attached. Watch the Randy Anderson dvds and learn his methods and you will be happily surprized with the success you can have using coyote vocalizations. God bless and good hunting.2 years, 5 months ago
