Primos Buck Roar Deer Call
Trouble in the Cold
I bought this call last year based on all the good reviews it had, and it worked great... until I got out into the -20C that is the reality of deer hunting in Alberta. The reed started to freeze shortly after I started using it, due to the condensation from my breath freezing up. This made the call squeaky and totally unusable. To fix this I simply removed the reed system, flipped it around, and now I have an inhale call! This completely solved the problem and the call sounds great and is always reliable. With this small modification I would recommend this call to any hunter facing the elements this hunting season.

Purchased Saturday...went out that afternoon with no user experience or knowledge of how to call a deer...crouched down in a grassy field...grunted and wheezed twice...2 monster mule deer literally jumped from lying down and came running right at me...10 minutes later a nice whitetail buck surprises me from behind...!?!?! This thing is magical.

This call is very useful. The loud grunts/growls you may hear during the rut are not able to be recreated by typical grunt calls. If you try to blow on them with force you get a higher pitched wheeze not a grunt. This call definitely gives the volume and sounds needed for the rut. You are also able to make regular grunts as well with lighter force on the call. With the growl chamber and the wheeze call on top, this is a great value. Look for sales when the season is half way through. I saved about $5-$6. The compass is a huge joke. More novelty than anything else. It does not work AT ALL. No worries cause I use a GPS anyways and nothing beats a stand alone $5 compass from any sporting goods store.

I personally love deer calls and almost everytime a good one comes out I have to buy it. I personally have not used this call in the field, but I can tell you already that the sounds you can get out of this call is amazing. I have never used a deer call that had the abilty to get that loud and have the ability to produce clicking, tending and long buck roar type grunts as well as it does. One thing about it that I really like is that you can't max this call out by blowing to hard. It also has a very good snort-wheeze call mounted on top of the call which makes it that much more versital. It has a compass on it has well. I can't wait to use this call in the field. It is the best call I have ever used.
