Rated 5 out of 5 by JimMrBass Awesome Line
I have always used Fireline in the past and I tried Power Pro Braided Spectra. I found that it is far superior to any braided line that I have used in
past. This line casts further with no memory at
all and the sensitivity is greater than any other braided line including Fireline. The hook setting using a 4/0
Eagle Claw Offset Worm Hook trolling at 9PM on Sept
23,20012 produced a 6LB large mouth with about 20 yards of line being used. The fish was caught in the upper lip with no stretch allowed at all. I strongly recommend you use this line as I now will use nothing else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nigels great value for money on a premium braid
Braid is generally an expensive (but in my opinion important) way to fill your reel, and this was my first bulk buy of PowerPro. Now I can use the whole spool rather than having those irritating 50 yard leftovers!
Anyway this is a great casting, soft braid, almost invisible in the water.

The only line I've used for years, Period.
Great for any application. Three line weights cover all my fishing needs for all seasons.

I've been using power pro for about 3 years now, and I'll keep using it for 50 more.

A:
It does not bite into the reel of a freshwater reel so therefore I strongly believe that it will not get caught in a salt water reel. The line comes off awesome and I have never had any backlashes or line not coming off a spinning reel or bait caster properlyA:
no it won't get caught up. just make sure you put alittle filler line on first to cover the spool.and use wire leader.A:
yes it will work good for any type of fishing. The key to it not digging into your spool is when you put it on the reel you have to get it very tightly wrapped on. I use a leather glove and pinch the line between your fingers tightly when your filling up your reel. that has worked for me so far.A:
You MUST wind braid on tightly or any braid will dig. This is easy to describe but timeconsuming for the consumer, because someone needs to hold the line spool under tension WITHOUT gloving the line itself which creates heat. Expect to put line on the reel by pulling it off the supply spool at a minimum of 10 pounds tension (i.e. almost too tight to strip off the spool by hand) for serious saltwater fishing; more would be better, especially near the bottom of the reel spool.A good tackle shop can also wind it on tight -- If they just wind it on the way most freshwater line is spooled, you can save an expensive trip offshore by throwing the line into the trash as soon as you get home because you will lose your fish, lose much of your line, and possibly damage other equipment.

You can use this type of line for sharks. Braid works well but I wouldn't use power pro. Make sure you use monofilament line as a backer or else it may just spin around your spinning reel spool. If you are using a conventional reel make sure the braid is tied to something on the spool, not just around the spool or it can just spin around it. Also you need to spool the line very tightly or else it may cut into the spool like you are worried about.1 of 1
