The Poly-Planar WC-700 Waterproof Stereo Housing comes with two 3'' built-in marine speakers. This housing allows you to conveniently mount a stereo or CD player (not included) without the need for remotely mounted speakers. The Poly-Planer WC-700 Housing is ideal for small boat applications or where space is limited. Includes stainless steel screws and EVA gasket. Other features include: a UV-stabilized plastic housing; a flip-up, translucent polycarbonate front panel; and two applications for DIN- and Shaft-type radio/CD player. Rated 5 out of 5 by Modificatoin is required for newer stereos I was apprehensive at first when I read the other only bad review but I knew BPS has a fairly good return policy so I took a chance. After getting it I realized all I had to do was cut the two din/shaft tabs out (its notched on the back) which I did with a hobby knife. Lets me mount my face plate type stereo with no problems at all. granted the little speakers don't pound out big heavy sounds but the application was just right for my bass boat. So this will work with some modification to remove the tabs, so don't let that scare you. Now I think the price is a bit steep at $65, as $40-45 would have been more in line with the product, but as they say when you own a boat (BOAT = bring on another THOUSAND), nothing is cheap owning a boat. Rated 1 out of 5 waste of time if you dont have a radio with knobs (which they rarely make anymore) this product will not work. It also doesnt house your stereo, it covers the front. dont wast your time on this product.. June 21, 2012
