Rated 2 out of 5Â by mrjosh Nice concept, but fails as a kayak
There were not many reviews on this kayak, so I decided to take a chance on one. The Apollo is a neat concept, being that it has a modular design. It really makes it easy to transport in the back of my Jeep. Compared to my sit-on-top Emotion Tandemonium, this kayak in tandem form is small. It is both narrower and much shorter. This kayak has very poor tracking compared to other sit-on-tops I have used on the lake and also rides very low in the water. The combined weight between my partner and I is 365 lbs, far below the maximum weight rating of 450 lbs (listed on the packaging) on this kayak and the kayak sat only about 4 inches off the water. This caused the kayak to take on water pretty quickly. The narrowness of the kayak also added to poor stability. The kayak would rock from side to side causing it to scoop up water, thus making the kayak ride even lower. There are no drain holes, which is odd for a sit-on-top. The water from the compartment in which paddler one seats drains to the rear where paddler two is and with no drain holes, the rear accumulates water very quickly.
If anything, I would say this kayak is only suited for extremely calm conditions and even at that I bet you would still take on water. This kayak is fast compared to an Ocean Kayak, but add in the poor tracking, low-riding, and unstable platform, and you don't really have that good of a kayak. In my opinion, I would not recommend this kayak. The only thing this kayak is good for is being transported, it fails in functioning as a kayak on the water.
On the other hand, Bass Pro was extremely accommodating and helpful with the return of this kayak, so thumbs up to you guys!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by PSWhite A Compromise, But...
Pros: fits in the back of my 5 door hatchback. Light enough to carry on my own.
Cons: Tracks poorly. Slow. Hard work, at best. You will get wet!
More Pros: I'm on the water!
Bottom Line: If you have no one to help you lift, carry or tow a great Kayak this one will do. Good for a few miles only. Don't expect an easy way with this one. Still, I'm on the water! That's important to me.
Lastly, I only bught the Bow and Stern. I will purchase the middle ASAP. The longer; the better with this one.
