Rated 4 out of 5 by More space for more stuff We fish quite a few ponds, lakes and streams around Kansas and this bag is invaluable. When it is hot and muggy here, you can put more in the bag and carry less in pockets or light clothing with few pockets as well. The zippers are sturdy, the material is durable and loaded the weight is manageable. From keeping it in the back of my truck for quick stops to fish or jumping on a friends boat there is enough space for the variety of fishing we do in a day. Not being negative but in many reviews I notice things users talk about like what they don't like or features the product didn't have when it was clear when they bought it the item didn't have those things. I WISH it had a handle on the top, and the sides of the bag were more sturdy (solved this by keeping all 4 plastic trays in it at all times), BUT I knew what I was buying and it is working out incredibly well. Variety of baits, digital scale, stringer, extra line, another reel, wallet, cell phone, hand towel, bug spray, and sun block, there is room for everything in this bag. For the price, there is nothing else like it. September 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by One heck of a bag The bag has a very sturdy construction and fits everything. The four tackle boxes are great and easily interchangeable with ones already owned, making for quick packing for different trips or fishing locations. There are plenty of pockets to keep misc. gear and the hard outer edges of the top pocket are great for sunglasses. September 3, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Works For Me! I bought this bag a couple of months before I took my yearly trip to the north woods of Minnesota, replacing my big Plano 6 tray box, and was glad I did. All I added was a spinner-bait box, which fit perfectly in the front pocket. Everything from the 6-tray transferred nicely to the bag, including two bait casters and an open faced spinning reel. The fit and finish was great, and for once I didn't have to cover the trays with cardboard to prevent spillage from the airline baggage handlers. I never used a tackle bag before but now I don't think I can go back. What a great system! September 20, 2012

Spinner baits is an option, but would want to keep packaging or get a plastic or tupperware type dish to hold them. The top is padded on both sides, and soft in the middle where it zips open. Personally I store my small towel, keys, cell phone and other things in there as well. The 2 side pockets also have dividers on them so you have 4 separate sections between the 2 pockets.

From what I can gather from your question, you are asking about the top pocket. It is a pocket for additional gear. The outer edges are a "hard" case with a square access panel in the middle. Could be good for quick access gear like glasses, gloves, rag, or any number of things. could fit a small tackle box as well.
