Rated 5 out of 5Â by fishfan Great for gear you must keep dry
This dry box stays dry, and it is the perfect thing for keeping wallets, cell phones, cameras and any of your other gear dry while out on the water. I've had mine on the boat in a downpour, and it stayed dry inside.
Only the large compartment is protected and stays dry, the upper compartment on the lid will take on water, so don't keep cash or stuff like that up there. Anything you want protected must be in the lower compartment.
The smaller box is easy to stow in most stowage areas under seats or inside compartments on most boats. This is nice to keep on board.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Barton Great for safe transport
I purchase these boxes for use at work where we transport chemicals and other resarch related samples between our various facilities. These boxes make the safe transport very easy and simple. The abiltiy of the boxes to retain liquids and solids is a major plus for our safety program.

I wanted a dry box to keep my wallet, cell phone etc dry, and this looked just the ticket. I especially liked the separate 'wet' top storage compartment.
However, on trying it out, I found out that it leaked like a sieve. The catches didn't close the lid down tight enough to engage the seals, and the casing side flexed too much to hold against the seals.
If you want a box that'll keep the rain out this will do, but it won't keep the water out if left to fall on its side in the bottom of the boat.

I thought this would be as advertised, a dry box. Kept my calls, shells, two-way radios, matches, and extra gloves, socks, and fleece cap in the duck blind. High water flooded blind and latched box, ruined my day! The sides of box flexed, took on water like a sponge. Check it out before you buy, the o-ring doesn't even touch the lid to form a seal.

This item does have a sturdy brass-bailed latch. However, it will not lock in the sense that others won't be able to access the contents.1 of 1
