Great ammo box for price The Plano "Ammo Can" is a well-made plastic ammo can for the price. This ammo can is sturdy, has an ergonomic handle so it's comfortable to carry and it has a cool quick-access compartment built into the top of the lid. You really can't go wrong with this item. I have two and will be ordering more. I use one of them for ammo and shooting supplies. The other one I use for knife storage (keep away from my kids). I uploaded a photo of my shooting, ammo can. Ammo CAN ROCKS! Hey, what a great box. I use is for ...well ammo, and other things for shooting, ear plugs, glasses, ear muffs, etc. It will hold approx 10-12 boxes of 12 gauge ammo if you need an idea. There is a small compartment on the lid that is great for the small stuff. I loved it so much I 2 and might go back for a 3rd. November 9, 2009
Great box! I wanted one place to put all my black powder items for sighting in or hunting. It all fits; boxes of bullets, powder and cleaning materials. The small cleaning tools fit nicely in the lid compartment. It is easy to carry. I also use a different one to keep my turkey calls, walkie-talkie and miscellaneous items stored away. I keep the batteries in that lid compartment. Just grab and go to the field! Make sure you label which box is which. Turkey calls do not load well into the muzzle. September 2, 2009
Awesome Buy! I own 12 of these ammo cans! I love how organized my ammo shelves are now. The description says you can fit 6 boxes of 2 3/4" shells. If you are a little creative you can fit 12. I'm comfortable with up to 1500 rounds of loose 9mm per box. December 21, 2014

I have two of them, the answer is no. The lack of a seal makes them unacceptable for my intended use. They take on water quickly if on their side in water.

A:
No, it does not. Upper lid covers the top of the box so water will not drain inside. Not waterproof.

No it does not, but easy fix is getting thin rubber weather stripping at a hardware store or department store. Don't do if it was luck, but my son dropped mine in the water and nothing got wet. I put a seal in anyway after that just to be on the safe sid. I love this can.
