Rated 5 out of 5 by does america proud made in usa and made extremely well. this is my second of this model. I would literally have to take an inventory to count the number of plano tackle boxes I own... this model is perfect for a lure hound such as myself! makes a great boat box or one of many to store one's lures. Rated 5 out of 5 by Big Bang For Your Bucks I looked at many tackle boxes, different sizes and different brands. This box is the answer for all your tackle needs. I have extra boxes of line, extra reals, three filet knives, sharpening stones, W-D 40 and tools for real repair. All of this is in the bottom with room for more. I have lures, hooks, jigs, grubs, and different other tackle in the top. This is a rugged box and it was at a great low price. If you have lots of tackle this is the box for you. February 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by great freshwater box I use this for my bass lures. So much storage room and so many compartments. Great to store bass lures. January 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Large Tackle Box There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this tackle box. If you have a lot of lures and gear you want to take with you in one box, this is the one box! And, it appears tough! I have a lot of weight worth of products in this box, and it handles it just fine. I can't think why any angler would rate this box less than 5. October 15, 2012

It weighs a couple of pounds empty. With all the tackle I have in mine, it now weighs around 20 pounds!

You are probably looking at under 2-pounds if it's empty. Thanks for your interest!

I just wonder, Also could a pair of 3600's also fit in with two of those puppies? I need to be able to keep spoons and metal lures in one... Another with jigs and such.

Are the hinges sturdy?

Details:
Some tackle boxes that I've seen, when fully opened, had very flimsy hinges and seem like they won't be able to last multiple seasons. Just wondering what the quality of the shelves and the hinges were. Thank you!

A:
My last one lasted about 20 years before the first hinge broke. "Jury-rigged" it and used it another 10. Believe if you exercise basic care and don't slam the trays open, you should have no problem getting multiple seasons out of this box.

My Plano is over 20 years old and so far the only thing that broke is the carrying handle when I dropped my trolling motor on it. The hinges are brass pins that last forever!

A:
Absolutely. I hate admitting it but I tend to abuse my equipment while I'm fishing and the hinges are still like new. Simple design, solid pin that runs through the top and bottom hinge. Easily fixable too if needed.

Per Plano the hinges being flimsy is not something they have heard feedback on or had any bad reviews. This is one of their top picks.
