After a few months the "plastic" trigger broke off.I tried to order a new one.Guess what they dont sell that peice.The reel worked great and was very smooth.To bad its in the junk drawer now.

I have not yet had the chance to fish with this
reel,but i have tested it out,iy casts real smooth,
drag is handyand well balanced.

I purchased an 1810 mainly due to Pfluegers long standing reputation as a quality reel maker. I fish freshwater about 3 days a week on average. Right out of the box this reel preformed wonderfully but after only a few uses I was having casting problems. I had it respooled at a local sporting goods store and again it worked well for a few weeks. I opened it up to lube the reel and noticed that the "tophat" assembly was rusted badly and was deeply grooved next to both pickup pins from line friction. Pflueger offerd to "review" the reel if I shipped it to them, but I have a rule about throwing good money after bad (the shipping would have been half the reel cost). The reel is less than 6 months old and is so badly grooved it damages the line upon retrieve and is deeply rusted. I own several underspin reels by other companies and have some close to 15 years old that do not show the damage this reel does after 6 months. All in all a poorly constructed reel.

Every time I use this reel, as well as my 33 trigger spin, there is a back lash.. While casting BOTH these reels, at reaching, say, 20-30 feet, there is a backlash and the reel snaps the line back... The line release pins, snap back out, and stop the line, from going any further!!! WHAT TO DO ??
