Reel comes with a FREE aluminum spare spool.
The Bass Pro Shops® CarbonLite™ Spinning Rod exceeds current technology in rod design. Performance-wise, it’s all about revolutionary materials—a total re-thinking of what goes into making the strongest, lightest, most incredibly sensitive rod ever devised. A CarbonLite rod is a thing of beauty, built on an ultra-rich carbon-fiber blank that compares favorably to 85 million modulus (IM9) graphite. Sleek, smooth carbon fiber transmits vibrations instantly and weighs much less than standard materials, yet has hookset power to spare. The guides are special: feather-light, stealth-black, Pacific Bay® DLC stainless steel frames with titanium-carbide inserts and a PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating to make them extra-slick and damage-resistant. Split handles with P-Tec poly-foam grips (and virtually no foregrip) keep weight low and blank contact high; our two-piece Soft Touch reel seat is light, comfortable, and bridgeless, exposing significantly more blank area to direct hand contact. All in all, you’ll love the feel and handling of this revolutionary rod, guaranteed.

I have had a medium carbonilte 7'2" since june and absolutely love it. it is paired with the pflueger president..
i recently bought the Medium light 6'9" Carbonlite with the pflueger supreme xt and wow what a difference in weight! i would probably attribute that to the reel differences. the reel is so smooth and casts very well with braided superlines. the click bell is awesome. i have only had the rod out twice. i have caught a small pike and a 17" bass. the rod handled great, what a riot on the lighter rod.. i am looking forward to testing the rod on some heavier fish, not sure how it will handle it but ill find out soon!

WOW! Awesome product. This rod and reel combo is a must have. Nice smooth reel and the rod is perfect for throwing senko worm. I got the med action rod with the 9225XT.

I put this combo together a few months ago prior to BPS actually offering it to their customers. I've got the 7' MH and use it for light jigs/trailers, worms, tubes, etc. and I LOVE it. The only thing I don't like about this setup is the foam handle on the reel. It's arguably more comfortable than a solid rubber handle grip, but I worry about its longevity. Time will tell. By the way…this thing is SENSITIVE! You feel everything with the right line…especially with light braid and a fluorocarbon leader. I did have trouble with using fluorocarbon only with it twisting badly. Not sure that was the reel’s fault or user error. Can’t go wrong with this one.

Amazing combo! bought the 7'2 med to use for everything really. The rod and reel are both very light and look awesome paired together. This is my first expensive combo and it seems well worth the money. First night out I caught 5 lmb in 1 hour at this urban pond by my house using t-rig baby brush hogs. Could feel every little bite better than I have ever felt before. I am pleased with the quality of this product and look forward to using it for many years to come!

Yes it is a rod and reel combo so what you see is what you get. I have been looking at this combo for a while and will be getting it this fall. I am looking forward to using it. You can never go wrong with a pflueger, NEVER!
This reel is worth every penny. Very smooth and easy to use, not to mention its lightweight. I have the 7 feet med action with the 9225xt. Great for bass fishing, trout, catfish and other small pan fish.
While we can't show bias to a particular brand, I can tell you that the carbon fiber construction of the Carbonlite rod helps to make this one of the lightest rods available. The rod is very light and sensitive, making it a great rod for jigging as it does not cause as much fatigue from constantly giving the same motion over and over.
