"I bought this rod for my fiance. She had never really even learned how to cast before. She learned as we fished out of a canoe for smallmouth. It was very easy for her to learn how to use. Great price and the reel was better quality than I expected. She seems to like the pink color also."

"I purchased this for my girlfriend so when she came out fishing with me she would have her own rod and I would know it wouldn't break. Most all of my fishing reels are Pflueger and have been for over 7 years. The rod cast' well and is suited for panfish with no problems. The drag sets nice and the retrieve is good for some one learning to work a lure for the first time. I would have like to seen it paired with a slightly stiffer rod but it fits my girlfriend well. Has performed well with both beetle spins and bobber and curly tail jigs. I plan on getting her a spinning reels once she becomes comfortable."

"Great rod and reel combo for my daughter. My daughter has been fishing with me for years. She has had her own kid's rod and fished with my rods, but she wanted a big girl's rod. Great choice. We shopped at the Basspro and she picked this one out. It is very easy to operate and maintain and catches bream to bass without a problem. Great combo to get kids of all ages into fishing."
