Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Combo Instead of getting a cheap rod and reel for my 4 year old daughter I decided to go with this combo. It was a great purchase, my wife loves using it as well! June 29, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by im not a kid This combo looks like it is made for kids...the max line that you can put on it is maybe 8 lbs. test line. It already come with 6 lbs. line. other than that it is a good looking combo. March 23, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Seems like a great outfit Bought it as a christmas present for my girlfriend. She loves to fish, but is tough on equipment. I trust the Pfluger brand, hoping she won't be able to hurt it. Unfortunately in western NY this time of year all we have is hard water. Let you know how it performs after the ice is gone. My wife has both the spinning rod combo and the baitcasting combo and likes them very much. I think these are high quality for the money. I am not sure about the closed face one you are looking at but pflueger doesn't make a bad outfit. I think I would recommend the open face version though. You would have a better chance of landing those Big Bass

the max line that you might be able to put on this reel is 8 lbs. it comes with 6 lbs. already on it. It is a good looking combo. But i call it my kid combo cause it is kinda small and it looks like it was made for kids.

what the picture looks like is what you get. this is an actual combo. it comes with rod and reel and line already . the line that is on the reel is 6 lbs. test. you might be able to put 8 lbs. test on it but i wouldnt recommend any heavier.

you might want to go with a zebco 800 series. my husband does a lot of bass fighing and his favorite is a zebco 888 with a 6 ft. shakespere rod. good luck with the bass this year.

i would suggets a pfluger open face, i have one and love it,, spin casts are slow in retreive and you will have some trbs in retreiveing ur bait. (probably) about 40 bucks not much money for a decent reel.
