Rated 5 out of 5 by koreythebassmaster001 pretty good this combo is really good! the rod is sensitive and flexible yet very strong. i caught my first ten fish on a fly rod on this setup.(two sunnies and 8 largemouth). i would recommend this to anyone who is wanting to get into the sport of flyfishing. only downside is i wish the reel didnt have a set drag but you could set yourself. even though it is a set drag its pretty good once you learn how to fight a pretty big fish on it. deffinately a must buy for anyone wanting to get into fly fishing but doesn't want to spend a lot of money and not like it. Rated 4 out of 5 by johnnyman Really fun! Kit has met my expectations completely for a rookie fly fisherman. Holds together well. Really enjoyed just being in the yard learning to fly the line. May 25, 2010

Details:Can I use this in the Indian river for trout and redfish?
A:It comes with everything to start, including flies.
A:yes it does, it also have flies and tippet
A:I do more panfishing with the fly rod and catch a lot of Bass and don't use dacking. I see it used more in saltwater because the fish run longer and fight harder. as a matter of fact I don't ever use the reel to bring the fish in. I hold the line with my Rod hand and pull in with the free hand
A:No it is not over kill for pan fishing I have used a fly rod for years and have done great with pan fish it's all I use it for and I catch more fish Bass or panfish with this than any other method
A:There should be nothing stopping you. the mounting hardware isn't keyed any one way so its just a matter of turning the reel to the left side and tightening it down
A:no you must put the line on yourself
A:Yes it comes with all the lines; backing, fly, combo leader and tippet no extra tippet. I don't recall if the fly was tied to the backing but the fly and leader definitely aren't attached.
A:The fly line is pre-loaded on the reel. You only have to attach the large end of the tippet (leader) to the fly line, and then a fly to the tippet to start fishing. You may have to research "nail knots" on the internet to see how to join the fly line and tippet.
A:comes with backing and fly line. Suppose to come with leader, but it doesn't - be prepared to buy your own
A:Mine had everything included except the leader, which Pfluger sent me within a week, now I have a spare.
A:This kit comes with the line prespooled as well as a seperate leader and 5 flies.
A:yes it does but no its not already put on
A:It's not a particularly amazing reel but in three years I haven't replaced mine. It will land most trout. Easy to clean and the reel quite honestly isn't as important as a good quality fly line.
A:For the price it's great, if you want more you pay more. I'm sure they have more expensive models. I'm new to fly fishing and it suited my budget.
A:the reel is great the rod is garbage its far from durable mine broke after 5 small trout
A:well, its #6 fly line, so, possibly, but u have to fight the fish really hard, i wouldnt risk it, get a 10 ft rod with #8- #10 fly line
A:I wouldn't risk it. The reel is held on by metal collars cinched down by a plastic nut. good for small to medium play fish but 6 lb. bass would be the one that got away
A:Yes I have landed some nice bass with it
A:as a stater rell you may want to upgrade the reel
A:You can't. It's a set drag. ON another note, be prepared to buy your own leader
A:Both. It's one of if not the cheapest outfits on the market. Good middle of the road weight rod comes with a knot guide, everything you need to fish except lessons on casting.
A:I've been told by experienced fly fishermen that it is an excellent set up for a beginner. The rod has some good flex, the reel is basic, I could have easily paid much more and have gotten too much for my skill level.

A:SPEND A FEW MORE DOLLARS AND GET THE WHITE RIVER DOGWOOD CANYON! it is amazing and you can have a bit more selection in terms of length and line weight.
A:Love the rod and reel i'm a beginner but it would work well for anyone who wants to catch fish
